Fun with snowshoes

Today, for some, it was another snow day. The schools were closed and up until about lunchtime, it wasn't very nice out. Not only was it a snowy day, it was also Thursday. Normally, I would have been driving Charlotte to daycare and looking forward to a day of doing pretty much whatever I wanted. I get these days twice a week. Well, thank you old Man weather. You spoiled my fun. Or did you?

As I wasn't expecting Charlotte to be home today, I didn't prepare anything special for us to do. So, this afternoon, once Harrison was awake from his afternoon nap, and we had done some chores around the house, I asked Charlotte if she'd like to go snowshoeing. Andrew and I have snowshoes and have gone in the past but we thought this year we'd get Charlotte to give it a try. We bought a pair on Kijiji before Christmas and well, with all the snow we've had, the conditions are perfect. I decided today that we'd try them out to see how she'd find them in hopes we can go to Pippy Park over the weekend.

To say Charlotte did great is an understatement, She had absolutely no problems with them whatsoever and we were out walking around and playing in the park for about 45 mins. We would have stayed out longer but I was worried Harrison was getting cold. Turns out, I think he may have fallen asleep but we couldn't tell as he had his cool dude sunglasses on.
Come on Mom!

Cool dude!
Still loving the swing!

Charlotte had a great time and can't wait to go out again.

This snow day was a great success.
Ready for the next expedition!
